Question the thought
Recognise rigid expectations, catastrophic conclusions and self-criticism about weight-loss progress.
We focus on the thoughts, emotions and habits behind a personally chosen weight-loss journey—not on miracle results or the idea that success is simply a matter of willpower.
Knowing you want to lose weight does not explain why you keep delaying the start, reach for familiar food when stressed or treat one difficult day as failure. Automatic thoughts, emotional cues and habitual responses may be involved, alongside genuine health and practical barriers.
The planned course teaches educational cognitive skills such as recognising unhelpful predictions and all-or-nothing thinking, together with behavioural skills such as mapping habit cues, recognising emotional triggers and learning from setbacks.
Money, shift work, caring responsibilities, illness, accessibility and the suitability of a weight-loss approach are real considerations. We will not explain away genuine constraints as weak mindset or encourage continuing an unsuitable plan.
Our founder's weight loss is his experience, not evidence that the course will produce the same outcome. We use relevant behavioural research and distinguish personal observations from established findings.
We do not diagnose thoughts or emotions, deliver cognitive behavioural therapy, treat eating disorders or replace medical, dietetic or mental-health care. We do not encourage severe restriction, compensatory exercise or ignoring physical symptoms.
Recognise rigid expectations, catastrophic conclusions and self-criticism about weight-loss progress.
Identify cues and familiar food behaviours before exploring alternative responses.
Reflect on comfort eating, boredom, stress and the emotions associated with familiar routines.
Explore what interrupted a weight-loss plan and how to respond without shame or extreme restriction.
Not therapy, a diagnosis or a guarantee that any individual will lose weight.
Our upcoming 12-week weight-loss mindset course will explore automatic thoughts, emotional eating triggers, habit loops and practical responses to setbacks. Join our free list for launch updates.
